While St Nicholas of Myra (d. 6 December 343) is one of the best loved saints in the Christian world, he is also one of the most elusive, and is surrounded by miracles, mysteries and legends that challenge and frustrate historians to this day.
As well as separating fact from fiction in Nicholas’s life, the lecture explores the wide range of art and music associated with the saint, and goes on to locate the twin resting places of the original Santa Claus.
